In the grim dark future of the 43rd millennium, Scotland’s bloody war for independence is ended by incarcerating all Scots in space prison. Also space prison is run by Americans and corporations or whatever and the Oval Office is underground and rectangular because it’s difficult to build an ellipsoid set.

Guy Pearce adopts the Steven Seagal ‘mumbling about his car keys or how he has friends’ acting technique for his ‘cool-guy action-guy lines’. There is inherent enjoyment from watching lazy writing delivered in an even lazier performance, it’s probably the most entertaining part. Also you can tell everyone else in the film is really annoyed by it, which is ace, more dunking on Guy Pearce pls.

Aside from this it’s a little of Demolition Man, lot of Die Hard and a lot of generic action film. Not really anything of not.
